Live pitches by student finalists
A distinguished panel of judges will evaluate Carbon Slam pitches and select First, Second and Third Place winners in both Climate Science and Climate Solutions, with prizes of $4,000, $2,000 and $1,000 awarded respectively in each category of competition. Carbon Slam invited guests will select the People’s Choice best pitch of $1,000 in both Climate Science and Climate Solutions by text voting.
During the poster-session reception, judges will evaluate poster presentations by the runners-up from all campuses and select the First, Second and Third Place winners in both Climate Science and Climate Solutions, with prizes of $1000, $500 and $250 awarded respectively in each category of competition. Carbon Slam invited guests will select the People’s Choice best poster of $250 in both Climate Science and Climate Solutions by text voting.
Winners will be announced at the reception. All decisions by the judges are final.
Attendance is by invitation only. Please email Sue Carter at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Transportation and parking
The event is hosted near both the San Francisco and San Jose airports, both of which have easy connections from most UC campuses. If you would like to share a cab or other transportation from the airport to the event with another attendee, please let us know and we will try to coordinate. Parking at the event will be provided for free.
The University of California will reserve hotel room blocks at reduced rates for Carbon Slam student participants and invited guests. A shuttle will be provided from the main hotel to the event site.
